The No. 5 Action Express Racing Corvette DP, defending champion at the 24 Hours of Daytona, overcame its three-lap handicap to take back the lead of the Florida race ahead of Jordan Taylor's Wayne Taylor Racing sister car. and the two Riley-Ford DPs from Chip Ganassi Racing.
The two Corvette C7.Rs of Oliver Gavin and Ryan Briscoe currently dominate the GTLM category ahead of the No. 4 BMW Z25 of Bruno Spengler. In PC, CORE Autosport remains the leader while in GTD, the No. 93 Dodge Viper took the lead. The other Viper No. 33, which played the leading roles in the category, caused an interruption of the race after stopping on the track.
