This Friday we learned of the death of Christian Moity, at the age of 87. After having managed the sports section of The car in the mid-50s, Christian Moity joined our press group to found the magazine Auto Passion.
It is also around 24 Hours of Le Mans that the work of Christian Moity was recognized, with the creation of the Annuals in 1978, co-written with our collaborator Jean-Marc Teissedre, but also the writing of several works: “Fiftieth anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1923 – 1982”, “Le Mans 1923 – 1992” and the triple volume box “Le Mans 1923 – 2010” in collaboration with Alain Bienvenu and Jean-Marc Teissedre.
Christian Moity received the Spirit of Le Mans Trophy in 2005. All AUTO editorial staffhebdo sends its sincere condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of Christian Moity.
