Very active on social networks, Fernando Rees announced on his Instagram account Thursday morning that he was ending his motorsport career. The 33-year-old Brazilian did not compete this season after Larbre Compétition replaced it in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) in the LM P2 category for economic reasons.

Fernando Rees spoke without regret: “After much thought over the last few months, I have decided to stop motorsport. It's entirely my own decision, and I feel totally comfortable with that. Becoming a professional pilot was a childhood dream, certainly from my first personal reflections in my life. This guided me to my start in go-karts when I was seven years old. I am totally grateful to have achieved and lived this dream for over ten years. »

Fernando Rees had turned towards theEndurance after having missed the rise to the single-seater series in 2007. We will remember the 33-year-old Brazilian for his two 6th places in the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Aston Martin in the GTE Am class (in 2015 and 2016) as well as his victory in the same category at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium, in 2015).
