After eight hours of racing, Franck Montagny handed over the wheel of the Peugeot No. 8 to Stéphane Sarrazin. The leading 908 remains less than 30 seconds ahead. Loïc duval, very fast on the 908 HDI FAP Oreca, which it shares with Nicolas lapierre and Olivier Panis, managed to come back, then take the advantage over the HPD ARX-01e of Highcroft Racing (David Brabham – Marino Franchitti – simon pagenaud). The leading trio is still in the same lap. Nothing is decided yet.

As for the LMP2 category, the No. 26 ORECA-Nissan of the Signatech team, driven by Soheil Ayari, Lucas Ordonez and Franck Mailleux, took advantage of the Level 5 Motorsport's troubles to regain the lead in a rather dull race, compared to to the fierce struggles of LMP1 and GTE. Five laps further, we find the #5 Level 55 Motorsport Lola-Honda of Scott Tucker / Ryan Hunter-Reay / Luis Diaz.

The suspense continues to animate the GTE race. The #56 BMW of Andy Priaulx, Jörg Muller and Joey Hand is in 1st row, pursued by a Ferrari, the F430 of Bruni-Fisichella-Kaffer (+ 0??698). The BMW of Priaulx-Muller-Hand (+4??131), 3rd, can still claim victory.
