The engine of the BMW M8 GTE in a few figures

The BMW M8 GTE, which debuted at the 24 Hours of Daytona in IMSA last January, will make its first official laps on the European continent from the Prologue of the WEC (April 6-7) at Paul-Ricard in the Var.

BMW Motorsport has revealed some figures regarding the M8's powerplant, codenamed P63/1 and based on the M8's 4,4-liter twin-turbo V5.

Cylinder capacity: 3981 cm3
Power: Between 500 and more than 600 hp (according to Balance de Performance)
Angle: 90 °
Bore: 89mm
Stroke: 80mm
985 unique parts, including 700 developed exclusively for the M8 GTE or from other BMW Motorsport racing engines
Energy efficiency: greater than 40%
