His greatest achievement in motorsport will remain his victory at the Dakar in 2006, on behalf of the official Mitsubishi team. Also present in the Le Mans Series and 24 Hours of Le Mans from 2001 to 2009, and even until 2010 as team boss, Luc Alphand hangs up his helmet. Since his serious fall on a motorcycle rally Rand'Auvergne on June 28, 2009, the French ski world champion had no longer taken the wheel in competition.
His Luc Alphand Aventures team has two Le Mans Series crowns in GT1 in 2008 and 2009, as well as three podiums in this same category at the 24 Hours of Le Mans (third in 2006 and second in 2009 and 2010), each time with a Corvette C6.R.
