Kyle Kirkwood will compete in two championships in Detroit as he will participate in the IMSA round in addition to IndyCar.

Busy weekend for Kyle Kirkwood in Detroit

Injured in a motocross accident, Jack Hawksworth withdrew from the sixth round of the seasonIMSA. The return date of the regular starter in the No. 3 Lexus RC F GT17 of VasserSullivan, released from hospital and currently recovering at home, has not yet been decided. He will therefore be replaced this weekend in Detroit by Ben Barnicoat, a week before his participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Team Project 1.

His partner will be Kyle Kirkwood. The 23-year-old Floridian will be doubly busy this weekend as he will also participate in the round ofIndyCar with AJ Foyt Racing, also planned for Michigan's largest city. Kirkwood is a regular with the VasserSullivan team in GTD having competed in races with the Lexus for the past three seasons.
