Sebastian Vettel, World Champion of Formula 1 with Red Bull Racing, receives congratulations from BMW, the manufacturer having been the first to give him a chance in 2007, and Vettel having distinguished himself in Formula BMW in order to join the Formula 3 Euro Series then the FR 3.5 Series, before reaching the F1. “ Our most sincere congratulations go to Sebastian Vettel, for his conquest of the title of Formula 1 World Champion, says BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen. His immense talent was already evident in 2004, when he won the Fomula BMW Germany with 18 victories in 20 starts. From there we kept an eye on him, bringing him to be the Friday test driver for the Pure BMW Sauber F1 Team. From his debut in Formula 1, in 2007, he became the youngest person to score a point. This race marked the start of a brilliant career, which now reaches its peak with a world title. We now wish the best for Sebastian, who is proof of the success of our concept of developing young drivers. »
