Lewis Hamilton (McLaren) set the best time in the first free practice session of the Hungarian GP by completing the lap of the Hungarian turnstile in 1:23:350. The winner of the German GP leads by 0??214 Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull). Fernando Alonso (Ferrari) is third at 0??292.
Mark Webber (Red Bull) set the fourth fastest time of the session, 0?316 behind the McLaren driver. But the Australian saw his session end prematurely following a collision against the safety rail.
