The poleman Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) will be able to count on a set of new medium tires, just like his teammate Valtteri Bottas, and on the contrary Ferrari by Räikkönen and Hag.
The Briton and the Scuderia drivers will have the same number of sets of new soft tires (2) and worn super-soft tires (3) available. Remember that Valtteri Bottas qualified in Q2 with soft tires and will try a strategic gamble to overcome his five-place penalty for gearbox change.
