Miami – Q1: The McLarens eliminated
- On a track which evolved enormously throughout the session, the fight for passage to Q2 was quite tense. Both McLaren de Lando Norris (16th) andOscar piastri (19th) went by the wayside from the start, just like the local stage Logan sargeant, who will start from last position on Sunday during his national Grand Prix.
- The other surprise is the elimination in Q1 of a Aston Martin, that of Lance stroll. The Canadian actually finished 18th in Q1. The Silverstone team did not appear at ease since Fernando Alonso ranked only 12th.
- Building on its momentum from EL2 and EL3, Max Verstappen dominated Q1, ahead Carlos Sainz and Sergio Pérez. Both Alpine passed the milestone, just like Nyck de Vries after a difficult weekend in Baku.

Note that Lewis Hamilton hit the wall outside turn 17. The Briton, who was arriving at full speed from the straight, was the victim of a misunderstanding with Kevin Magnussen, who was preparing his turn. To avoid hitting the Dane, the Briton moved towards the wall and lightly hit him. An investigation has been opened for impediment, and the commissioners will look into the matter after qualification.
- An investigation was also opened against Carlos Sainz for having obstructed Guanyu-Zhou. The action will be investigated after qualification as well.
