Ferrari, to examine the effectiveness of the F-duct on the Singapore circuit, is carrying out a differentiated strategy during the first free practice session. Felipe Massa drives with his rear wing blown, while Fernando Alonso benefits from this system which makes it possible to reduce aerodynamic downforce.
Renault opted for the same strategy, Vitaly Petrov riding without D-duct.
After more than half an hour of session, it is Timo Glock (Virgin) who has the best time, in 2:02:180.
