A Formula 1 on the tortuous route of Bathurst, an image so rare and yet so impressive. Twelve years after the last appearance of an F1 on the Australian circuit (Jenson Button in 2011, with the McLaren MP4-23), Red Bull took his RB7 around Mount Panorama. Liam Lawson completed a few demonstration laps on the sidelines of the Bathurst 12 Hours, which will start this Saturday at 19:45 p.m. (French time).

“It’s probably the coolest thing I’ve done in my life, confided Liam Lawson, who discovered the Australian circuit at the same time. I took a ride in the safety car this morning, to have an eye on this place. To do it in a Formula 1 car is absolutely crazy. The first round, honestly, I was so nervous. »
The New Zealander, who will celebrate his 21st birthday on February 11, described his ride as being “pure pleasure” aboard the Red Bull RB7. “It was completely flat out through The Chase, braking at probably 120, 130 meters. The car was really, really good, it handled the bumps well, on top it was really fast. It's the most special thing I've done. To do something like this in a car that I watched race when I was younger… it’s pure fun. »
