Winner of the qualifying race last April, the BMW Sports Trophy Team Schubert set the best time in free practice for the 24 Hours of Nürburgring in Germany. The No. 4 Z3 GT20 entrusted to the quartet Martin Tomczyk – Claudia Huertgen – Jens Klingmann – Dominik Baumann was the fastest with a best time set in 8'29″079 by Baumann.
Team WRT is in second position with the No. 8 Audi R29 LMS of Laurens Vanthoor – Christer Joens – Nicki Thiim – Pierre Kaffer, 394 thousandths behind the leading BMW. Another Z4, that of Team Marc VDS, driven by Augusto Farfus, Jörg Müller, Dirk Adorf and Nick Catsburg ranks third at 0″465.
Note that the rain arrived at the very end of the session, but did not disrupt the progress of the debates.
