Markus Winkelhock, alongside Marc Basseng, Frank Stippler and Christopher Haase, celebrated Audi's first victory at the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring with first place in the No. 8 R3 LMS of Team Phoenix. The German admits that this success is all the more appreciable as the start of the weekend did not go well. “The race was very competitive and the cars showed a very good level. To finish the event in first place is truly incredible because things had not gone well at the start. Qualifying wasn't perfect (12th place) and we weren't in a very good situation during the first hours of the race. We have seen what can happen in 24 hours. The car was fantastic, my teammates all did a good job, as did the team. »
