Romain Grosjean (Ford GT Matech Competition) won with Thomas Mutsch the so-called “championship” race in Abu Dhabi on the Yas Marina circuit, during the first meeting of the GT1 World Championship. Thomas Mutsch, who started from pole, handed over the wheel to Romain Grosjean halfway through the race in the best conditions. The Franco-Swiss driver managed to stay in the lead thanks to pit stops and then significantly increased his lead over the Corvette Z06 of Andreas Zuber and Marc Hennerici.

Romain Grosjean is thus starting in the best way in the GT1 World Championship and is also giving himself a nice gift since he is celebrating his 24th birthday today.

Mutsch and Grosjean lead the GT1 championship with 31 points, having collected the 25 points for victory in the championship race, while having collected six points in the qualifying race. Marc Hennerici and Andreas Zuber follow with 26 points (8 + 18).
