There will be no GT World Challenge Asia until the second part of the year at the earliest, organizers have announced.
Current travel restrictions in addition to the measures taken by the various countries concerned due to the health crisis have forced SRO to postpone the start of the GT World Challenge Asia campaign initially scheduled for Malaysia (May 28-30).
SRO still intends to organize races in the region but only if conditions permit.
« We remain hopeful of getting there before the end of the season and remain determined to find solutions that will allow us to do so., explains Benjamin Franassovici, deputy director of the championship. We are also already looking ahead to 2022 and hope to announce the schedule in the coming months ».
