Change of course for Calan Williams in 2023. The Australian is moving away from car to arrive in Grand Touring next season.
After a complicated campaign in Formula 2 last year – only 5 points in 26 races with Trident – the young 22-year-old driver will re-direct towards GT World Challenge Europe and the WRT team.
The Belgian team will be associated with BMW for the first time after the end of the partnership with Audi at the end of last season.
I am very excited to announce that I will be racing for WRT in the 2023 GT World Challenge Europe! I am very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the team and work with the huge global brand of BMW. I can't wait to get started! pic.twitter.com/xZsXkO4rPt

Without a single-seater opportunity for 2023, Calan Willams is delighted to find refuge in GT. “I am very happy to announce that I will be racing for WRT in the 2023 GT World Challenge Europe! I am very grateful for the opportunity to be part of the team and to work with the huge global brand that is BMW. I can't wait to get started! », we can read on his social networks.
The GT World Challenge Europe will travel to Paul-Ricard for pre-season testing on March 7 and 8 before the first round of the championship, in Monza (Italy) on April 22 and 23.
