This weekend, in the wake of the 6 Hours of Shanghai WEC et de la pénultième manche du WTTC disputées les semaines précédentes, le circuit international de Shanghai accueille le Sports Car Champion Festival. Un événement qui est une première, réunissant toutes les marques du groupe VW. Ainsi y sont prévues les finales de la toute nouvelle Audi R8 LMS Cup (la première du genre dans le monde), de la Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, du Lamborghini Super Trofeo et de la Scirocco R-Cup.
In the Carrera Cup, the Swiss Alexandre Imperatori did not wait for the first of the two races to be crowned. With a good lead in points, and despite qualifying on a disappointing wet track, just like his last Japanese challenger Sawa, Imperatori found himself out of reach and is therefore the new champion on behalf of the StarChase team, behind which includes the Absolute Racing team of Frenchman Fabien Fior and German Ingo Matter.
Benjamin Rouget, the young Dijon native entered this season by the Chinese team Yongda, will start 3rd on the first starting grid today behind Macau pole sitter Rodolfo Avila and the Austrian Martin Ragginger.
