The Belgian Audi Club Team WRT set the best times in the two free practice sessions held on the Zolder circuit in mixed conditions. The first session held on a dry track saw Laurens Vanthoor set the best time in 1'30"761 at the wheel of the No. 8 R11 LMS ultra which he shares with Stéphane Ortelli. There Mclaren MP4-12C n°9 from Sébastien Loeb Racing finished as the closest, almost five tenths behind with a time set by Alvaro Parente. Day-Buhk took third place with the Mercedes SLS AMG of the HTP Gravity Charouz. The #8 Team WRT R13 (Sandström-Stippler) and the #5 Phoenix Racing (Ide-Kumpen) completed the top five with less than a second behind the reference time.

The Belgian team kept control in the second session disputed in the rain. René Rast set the best time in 1'30"274 in the No. 8 R12 LMS ultra. The Lamborghini LP560-4 from the GRT team driven by Proczyk-Baumann was the closest, falling by almost a second. The SLRacing McLarens finished in eighth place (for Loeb-Parente) and in 11th position (for Zuber-Parisy). The session was marked by a violent exit from the road by Julien Jousse after which Team India will have to work for a long time to repair the #4 BMW Z6.
