Specialist of car, Clivio Piccione will participate in the new FIA GT1 world championship within the Hexis AMR team. After three seasons in F3 British from 2002 to 2004, the Monegasque joined the GP2 Series peloton for the next two years, notably winning a victory in 2005. He then continued his career in the World Series by Renault FR 3.5 then in EuroSeries F3000 before turning to A1GP during the 2008-2009 off-season, a championship in which he was both driver and director of Team Monaco.

This will therefore be, at the age of 26, his first Grand Touring season. After first attempting to set up a common structure with Hexis AMR, the vice-world champion of Karting Formula A in 2000 will ultimately only occupy the position of driver, Team Monaco having failed to gather the necessary budget.

His teammate has not yet been revealed. As a reminder, the sister car will be entrusted to Fréderic Makoviecki and Jean-Denis Delétraz.
