Natacha Gachnang, during qualifying for the Abu Dhabi round of the GT1 World Championship, was the victim of a major off-track accident. The No. 6 Matech Competition Ford GT shot straight before hitting a protective wall under the stands (see video). The young woman was taken to the medical center, then airlifted to the hospital, and the session was stopped. The session did not restart and pole therefore went to the Andreas Zuber / Marc Hennerici crew in the No. 06 Corvette Z14. Frédéric Makowiecki, on theAston Martin n°9 of Hexis AMR, sets the second time.
