Stef Dusseldorp and Frédéric Makowiecki took pole on the Nürburgring circuit thanks to a time of 1'55"024 achieved by the Frenchman. There McLaren MP4-12C from Hexis Racing is ahead of the two Audi R8 LMS from Team WRT, Laurens Vanthoor having failed three tenths of the best time while Oliver Jarvis falls short of five tenths. Thomas Jäger places first Mercedes SLS AMG from the All-Inkl .com Münnich Motorsport team in fourth position ahead of the two Lamborghini Gallardo LP600s from Reiter Engineering. The Vita4one misses qualifying as the BMW Z4 GT3 of Championship leaders Michael Bartels and Yelmer Buurman failed to take part in the final qualifying session.
