Stéphane Ortelli and Laurens Vanthoor took victory in the qualifying race at Moscow Raceway, contested in the rain at the wheel of the Audi R8 LMS of Team WRT, which was about ten seconds ahead of the Mercedes SLS AMG All-Inkl.com Munnich Motorsport by Markus Winkelhock and Marc Basseng. Franck Stippler and Oliver Jarvis completed the podium in the second Audi. Frédéric Makowiecki and Stef Dusseldorp failed in fourth place in the McLaren Hexis Racing MP4-12C. Pole men Grégoire Demoustier and Alvaro Parente placed the second McLaren in sixth position behind the second Mercedes of Thomas Jäger and Nicky Pastorelli.
