Hendrick Motorsports announced the arrival of the young 19-year-old pilot William byron in the No. 5 Chevrolet for 2018, a few days after announcing the split with Kasey Kahne.
Byron has ten victories in the XFINITY Series and Camping World Truck Series. The contract which binds him with Hendrick Motorsports will last several years. He will join Jimmie Johnson, Chase Eliott and Alex Bowman.
