The GT World Challenge Europe will launch its 2022 season in Italy. However, the first round will not take place in Monza as announced last September but in Imola, near the famous Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari (April 1-3).

The format of the race does not change and the next campaign will therefore begin with a three-hour endurance test. Additionally, the Lamborghini Super Trofeo, GT4 European Series and GT2 European Series will take place in Imola.

« I’m delighted that we can return to Imola next year to kick off the GT World Challenge Europe season, rejoices the boss of the championship and promoter SRO, Stéphane Ratel. This tour has a unique atmosphere that I can’t wait to experience next year. I am also very happy that the Lamborghini Super Trofeo, the GT4 European Series and the GT2 European Series are part of the program. All this promises a perfect start to the season ».

The pre-season tests at Paul Ricard have been set for March 7 and 8 and not from the 8 to 9 of the same month as originally planned.
