He definitely likes this Mercedes-AMG GT3. After winning the Bathurst 12 Hours last May with SunEnergy1, Jules Gounon this time took pole position for the 8 Hours of Indianapolis with Winward Racing.
Under the Indianapolis sun, the Habs spoke about his experience at the wheel of the No. 3 Mercedes-AMG GT33 that he shares with Philip Ellis and Russell Ward. After waiting in the stands longer than his comrades, Jules Gounon made a final attempt in 1'22"190 ahead of Alessandro Balzan (Ferrari 488 GT3 No. 34 – Conquest Racing) by only 52 thousandths. Third only 93 thousandths behind, Alessio Rovera (Ferrari 488 GT3 No. 23 – Triarsi Racing) took pole position in Pro-Am.
The start of the 8 Hours of Indianapolis is scheduled for 18:00 p.m. (French time) this Saturday.
