In order to reduce the cost of the season for the teams registered in the FIA GT, the Argentine event contested on the magnificent San Luis circuit was removed from the 2009 calendar and replaced by a date at the Paul Ricard HTTT.
“With the current economic climate and our GT1 championship project in 2010, we have finally decided to limit the number of events to eight,” declared Stéphane Ratel, boss of the discipline.
Other dates have been changed. Bucharest will host the GT on August 9, Le Paul Ricard finds its place on October 4 before Zolder on October 25.
