The Ligier European Series will visit one more circuit in 2021 compared to the 2020 campaign. Still within the framework of the European Le Mans Series, the French competition will travel for the first time to Barcelona (Spain) as an opener.

In addition, Silver-Silver crews will now be accepted, whether in the Ligier JS2 R or the JS P4. Drivers in this category will have to compensate for their speed with a fixed time penalty in the pits during the race.

Jacques Nicolet, President of Ligier Automotive:

“It was a very special first season given the health and economic situation. With nearly 15 cars on average, it's a promising launch. This year allowed us with the teams of theELMS to learn lessons to adapt and best meet the expectations of drivers and teams. We will do everything to make 2021 a complete success. Unsurprisingly, we are delighted with our collaboration with the ELMS teams! We are very proud to have succeeded with them, our teams and their drivers, in placing the Ligier European Series in the endurance panorama. »

Gérard Neveu, General Director of the European Le Mans Series:

“This first season of the Ligier European Series has met all our expectations. This also allows us to learn lessons from a first experience for this brand new series and to offer an even more attractive Ligier championship from 2021. The Ligier European Series is the first step in the ascent to the summits ofEndurance. A step high enough to meet the expectations of our competitors but still accessible enough to welcome new ones. See you in 2021! »
