The JTG Daugherty Racing team, which entered the No. 47 Chevrolet SS for AJ Allmendinger in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, will not start at the Sprint Unlimited at Daytona on February 14, which precedes the season opener and the Daytona 500 (February 22). The Harrisburg, North Carolina stable was automatically qualified following to the modifications made by the American series to the admission procedures for this traditional appointment. “We were not qualified for this race until NASCAR's decision to expand the terms to the 16 drivers who qualified for the Chase. We already had our budget for our 36 races. There was not enough time to secure an additional sponsor and prepare for the race without compromising our preparation for the Daytona 500.” explained owner Tad Geschickter.
