Spa: a Corvette destroyed

Roberto Streit, who had just taken over from Enrique Bernoldi, was the victim of a violent exit from the track. The Brazilian driver of the No. 8 Sangari Team Brazil Corvette is fine but his Corvette C6.R is destroyed. Enrique Bernoldi had animated the start of the race by taking the lead after overtaking the three Maserati MC 12s. At the time of his exit from the track, at the top of the Raidillon, Roberto Streit was in 4th place in the GT1 standings.
The race is placed under Safety Car regime for an indefinite period.
