TCR – A European Trophy in 2016

The organizers of the TCR International Series have confirmed the launch in 2016 of a European trophy for the discipline, based on collaboration between the promoters of the national TCR championships. “The plan is to name six or seven meetings, one for each country that will have a TCR championship, and to validate four of them to award the European Drivers and Teams titles. » comments Marcello Lotti, boss of the TCR Series.

Six provisional events are already in the pipeline, in Benelux, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Russia. Only competitors registered for the year in one of these series will be eligible to score points in the European Trophy. Each round will be contested according to the sporting regulations of the host championship. The final schedule will be revealed in the coming weeks.
