The penultimate round of the V8 Supercars was held this weekend at Winton Motor Speedway. Yesterday, Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes, first and second in Race 1, gave the Vodafone / Triple Eight team a one-two finish, with Lee Holdsworth (Ford Falcon Irwin Racing) completing the podium. Today, it was Craig Lowndes who triumphed, ahead of Mark Winterbottom (Ford Falcon Ford Performance Racing) and Jamie Whincup. A result which is enough for the latter to already claim his fourth championship crown in the discipline, even before the last round, which will be held at the Sydney Telstra 500 on the first weekend of December.
17th and 14th in the two qualifying sessions, the Frenchman Alexandre Prémat (Garry Rogers Motorsport), finished 18th and 21st respectively.
