The V8 Supercars commission has just adopted several changes concerning restart procedures following an interruption and the entry of the safety car, to simplify these fairly common situations in this championship.
– The speed limit when cars start a restart increases from 50 to 60 km/h to 60-80 km/h
– Cars are not allowed to overtake before control (start/finish line)
– The Acceleration Zone will be extended
– It is the driver in the lead who determines the restart, no green flag waved in the starting zone.
These changes will take effect from the next round of the Tyrepower Tasmania Challenge (March 28-30).
