Less than a month after his big accident in SuperFormula, Sacha Fenestraz delivered a top-notch performance in SuperGT. Aligned alongside Ritomo Miyata in the Toyota n°37 of TOM'S, the duo is not yet in the shoes of the favorite at Fuji. Third on the starting grid, victory was decided in the pit lane. The #24 Nissan of Kondo Racing quickly regained the lead of the race from the #19 Toyota of Racing Project Bandoh.

While Sasaki gave way to Hirate on the 72nd lap, for his part, Miyata remained on board, allowing him to gain precious seconds and above all to succeed in the overcut attempt on the leaders. With this strategic choice, the Miyata/Fenestraz duo took control of the race. An advantage that they managed to maintain until the end of the race, finishing more than 7 seconds behind Bertrand Baguette and Kazuki Hiramine, 2nd at the finish.

With this victory, Fenestraz and Miyata take control of the championship after the 4th round out of 8 for just one small point. The other tricolor on the grid, Giuliano Alesi finished the race just off the podium in 4th position.
