Conrad Laursen renewed by Prema in Italian F4

Beaten by the Dutch team Van Amersfoort and Oliver Bearman last year, the Italian team will be keen to recover its title in 2022. Prema also announced the renewal of the contract of its young 16-year-old Danish driver, Conrad Laursen , ninth in the championship last year, for the next Italian F4 campaign. Laursen fought for a long time last year for the title of best rookie (beginner in a category), beaten by only one point by the Russian Nikita Bedrin (Van Amersfoort).

“I am very happy to continue my adventure with Prema, explains Conrad Laursen. The first year was absolutely incredible. I learned a lot even if the results were not what I wanted […] The goal is to fight for the championship, and I will do everything possible to be in the best physical and mental shape. »

For him, as for the other drivers, this season will be the opportunity to introduce the new Tatuus racing car for 2022 in the Italian F4 series. Late last year, Laursen reached the podium with the new car at the non-championship event in Abu Dhabi. He will begin his 2022 season with the final two rounds of the UAE F4 Championship – in Dubai from February 11-13 and Yas Marina from 17-20.

“The team is excited to continue working with Conrad, and we are committed to helping him realize his best potential in the upcoming season. explains Angelo Rosin, the team director. He is also an extremely valuable asset for Prema as he has speed and a remarkable amount of experience for his age. Having the chance to start the season so early is a bonus, so we can maximize everything and get some good chemistry with the new car. »

The Italian F4 season begins with a round at Imola, from May 6 to 8.
