At the end of a session with a bizarre outcome yesterday in the FIA F3 at Monza, with a premature end due to insufficient safety on the track, the peloton being too grouped together in the final minutes, several drivers received penalties on the grid for the main race this Saturday morning.

First among them is Christian Lundgaard (ART Grand Prix), the pole sitter, who will receive three places for driving too slowly without apparent necessity. An identical reason and sanction for his teammates David Beckmann and Max Fewtrell while Leonardo Pulcini (Hitech GP) was penalized three places for hindering Devlin DeFrancesco (Trident).

Marcus Armstrong, Jehan Daruvala, Robert Shwartzman (Prema), Bent Viscaal, Jake Hughes (HWA Racelab) and Teppei Natori (Carlin) were penalized 10 places for driving too slowly and unnecessarily.

Liam Lawson (MP Motorsport), Felipe Drugovich, Logan sargeant (Carlin), Niko Kari (Trident), Leonardo Pulcini and Jüri Vips (Hitech GP) for their part received five penalty places for the same reason.

An accumulation of sanctions which, however, did not prevent Lundgaard from retaining pole, the Dane finally starting ahead of Lirim Zendeli (Sauber Junior Team by Charouz).
