Jean-Eric Vergne seems to want to quickly forget his weekend at the Nürburgring where he lost the lead in the Championship. Driver Carlin, author of the first time in the first free practice session in Budapest, achieved the best time of the day by completing the lap of the Hungaroring circuit in 1:34:673.

Alexander Red (Fortec Motorsports) failed by only three thousandths in second position. Robert Wickens (Carlin), Formula leader Renault 3.5 Series, author of the third time (+ 0??195).

Daniel Ricciardo (ISR), new official HRT driver, achieved the eighth time (+ 0??472). Nelson Panciatici (KMP Racing) is sixth (+0??314) while Arthur Pic (Tech 1 Racing) is 14th (+0??794). Nathanael Berthon (ISR) is 24th (+1??505).
