Maite Cáceres will be the third driver of the Campos team for the inaugural season of F1 Academy. The Uruguayan will officiate alongside Nerea Martí and the Frenchwoman Lola Lovinfosse in the Spanish structure from the first meeting of the championship, on April 28 and 29 in Spielberg (Austria).

The 19-year-old pilot began the car in 2021, within an F4 competition in his native country. She joined the grid in the first season of USF Junior, competing in the final six rounds as part of the International Motorsport team.

“I am very happy to join Campos Racing for this season, declares the pilot, in a competitive team. We worked together last month and I saw first-hand the excellent level of determination and commitment they possess, values that I also share. We will continue to work together to achieve the goals we have set for ourselves. »

For his part, the director of the Spanish garage Adrián Campos welcomes his driver: “She is a driver that we have followed closely in recent seasons and have noted her potential and her room for improvement. Together with Nerea (Martí) and Lola (Lovinfosse), they form a very high level team with which we can achieve excellent results in the 2023 F1 Academy season. We have a few weeks of intense work ahead of us which we will take advantage of to arrive at Spielberg at the end of April at the highest possible level. »

The names of all the drivers who will make up the grid for the new championship are not yet known. Alongside Campos Racing, four other teams are on the entry list, each with three seats to fill: ART Grand Prix, Rodin Carlin, MP Motorsport and PREMA Racing.
