On the gong, Robert Shwartzman (Prema) snatched the best time from Ralph Boschung (Campos) in the one and only free practice session at the Jeddah meeting this Friday. The Russian set a benchmark time of 1'42″623, after the start of the session was delayed by around twenty minutes. The champion of F3 2019 was ahead of Ralph Boschung (+0″184) and Dan Ticktum (Carlin/+0″331).

The championship leader Oscar piastri (Prema) could not do better than 10th (+0″833), while his main rival Guanyu-Zhou (UNI-Virtuosi) set the 7th fastest time of the session. We will note the very good debut of Jack Doohan (MP Motorsport), who for his first session in a F2, set the 8th time (+0″717) of the session.

Crash for Logan sargeant

Jack Doohan was not the only one to start in F2 since there were four of them discovering the category. If Olli Caldwell (Campos) and Clément Novalak (MP Motorsport) respectively signed the 15th and 16th times of the session, Logan Sargeant (HWA Racelab) lost control of his car on his second flying lap and hit a wall, completely pulverizing the rear of his car.

Also note the fine 5th place of Marcus Armstrong (DAMS), behind the vengeful Felipe Drugovich (UNI-Virtuosi). The qualifying session is scheduled for 16:20 p.m. French time this Friday.
