Thunderbolt in Super Formula: championship leader Tomoki Nojiri will be absent from the next round, which will take place on the Autopolis circuit (Japan) on May 21. The Japanese had to withdraw this Friday, plagued by health problems.

The double reigning champion of the discipline would suffer from respiratory problems and chest pains, two days before the race. The Team Mugen driver and his team then made the decision not to participate in the 4th round of the Japanese championship in order to rest.

Team Mugen has already announced the name of its replacement for Autopolis: it is Hiroki Otsu, 28 years old, who has two full seasons in Super Formula (for a victory at Motegi, in 2021).
