Great first for Sho Tsuboi. The Japanese obtained his first pole position in Super Formula this Saturday, during qualifying for the race at Autopolis.
The P.mu/Cerumo driver, already author of the best time in his group during Q1, took pole in Q2 with a time of 1'26″187, almost two tenths ahead of Liam Lawson.
The New Zealander, still impressive in qualifying, has a great opportunity this weekend to take the lead in the championship, since Tomoki Nojiri is not present this weekend at Autopolis due to health problems.
Runner-up in the championship, Ritomo Miyata also wants to seize his chance and qualified in 4th place, just behind Sena Sakaguchi. Giuliano Alesi, eliminated in Q1 with the 9th time in his group, will start at the back of the peloton in 18th place.
