Maverick Viñales signs his first podium with Aprilia

The emotion could be read on the face of Maverick Viñales at Assen. At the Dutch Grand Prix, the Catalan finally got back on the podium. A first under its new colors at Aprilia. At the finish of the race, the former Yamaha rider was congratulated by his entire team and his teammate Aleix Espargaro, 4th.

« The enormous work we have done is finally paying off. It was a very difficult race. I pushed as hard as I could during each lap because I was starting from the back. But the bike was fantastic, every time we are better, and you know, this team deserves to be on the podium every weekend. So I'll give it my all and work hard » explained the Spaniard at the finish of the race.

« I would like to thank my family who have always supported me. Not much more to add, I can't wait to be at Silverstone and give it my all again. » Maverick Viñales will have plenty of time to celebrate this return to the podium with the summer break coming up in MotoGP.
