Guilty of a collision with Aleix Espargaro at the start of the race in Assen, Fabio Quartararo took the time to apologize in person to the Spaniard, ultimately 4th in the Grand Prix.

VIDEO – Quartararo’s apology to Espargaro

In motorcycles more than elsewhere, the danger inherent in the discipline makes the riders all extremely respectful and understanding towards each other. Latest example? This Sunday, near Assen in the Netherlands. While he attacked Aleix Espargaro for the benefit of second position, fabio quartararo missed while diving inside, and hit the Spaniard, who lost numerous positions going through the gravel. 

The Habs fell and took longer to get back on track. Judged logically guilty of the collision, Quartararo received a long lap penalty which he will have to honor at Silverstone, during the next round. The world champion nevertheless took responsibility after the race and went directly to the Catalan's box to apologize in person. A moment captured by the cameras of the broadcaster Canal +, showing the two men talking, all smiles. 

If we don't really know the content of the exchanges between the two men, who had already given us a video call while the Habs were at a press conference at the start of the weekend, the Nice resident recognized his fault, speaking “a rookie mistake” by flatly apologizing on social networks to Espargaro and his Aprilia team. On this Instagram post, the Aprilia rider, ultimately 4th in the race thanks to a nice comeback, seemed to forgive his sidekick: “We all make mistakes. You are a champion on and off the track. Let's fight again at Silverstone! » See you on August 7!
