Catalonia – SS2: Ogier falls in the standings

Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) sees its weekend in Spain become seriously complicated. The Gapençais lost around 44 seconds on the lead of the race by being the victim of steering problems in Horta-Bot, the SS2 of the Rally of Catalonia. The six-time champion WRC made repairs on the next link hoping to regain his rhythm on the last stage of the first pass.

Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) a été le plus rapide en bouclant les 19km en 10’18’’5 avec 7 dixièmes d’avance sur son coéquipier Dani Sordo. Les Toyota by Kris Meeke and Ott Tänak ont suivi à près de 2 secondes. Esapekka Lappi (Citroën) a terminé à près de 3 secondes en devançant ses compatriotes Teemu Suninen (M-Sport) et Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota). Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) a échoué à 8 secondes en précédant Sébastien Loeb (Hyundai) and Takamoto Katsuta (Toyota).

 

 

Thierry Neuville takes control of the event with a 4 tenths lead over Dani Sordo. Kris Meeke completes the provisional podium with 8 tenths ahead of Ott Tänak. Esapekka Lappi climbs to 5th place ahead of the Fords of Teemu Suninen and Elfyn Evans. Jari-Matti Latvala finds himself 8th ahead of Sébastien Loeb and Takamoto Katsuta. Sébastien Ogier fell to 11th place, 12 seconds behind the Japanese.
