At the end of a superb battle where Eric Brunson and Julien Maurin both found themselves in the lead as at Lyon-Charbonnières, the driver of the Subaru Impreza WRC took the advantage in SS6 and is ahead of the Ford Fiesta WRC by 6"5 before competing in the short Limoges special (2,34km) which will conclude the first stage of the Rally Limousin region. Jean-Marie Cuoq (Citroën C4 WRC) watches the duel closely, only eight seconds behind the winner of the previous event. On the other hand, Jean-Charles Beaubelique (Ford Focus WRC) and Jean-Sébastien Vigion (Focus WRC) complete the top five with more than a minute behind the leader of the race. Dany Snobeck (Impreza WRC) and Pierre Roché (Mini JCW WRC) retired from the start with a mechanical problem while Ludovic Gal (Fiesta S2000) lost time after going off the road.

Cédric Robert leads the Citroën Racing Trophy while Kevin Abbring leads the 208 Rally Cup. Rémi Jouines is leader in the Opel Adam Cup. Emmanuel Guigou leads the Trophy Renault Twingo R2.
