The Belgian Chris Van Woensel (Mitsubishi Lancer WRC) was the only one to keep up the pace of the Subaru Impreza S12B driver before experiencing major mechanical problems in the final special of a first stage that was already fatal to the hopes of the Briton Harper and Debackere.

From then on, the Englishman Taylor, despite some misfortunes, strove to offer an unprecedented double to the representatives of his gracious Majesty. To gain the last step of the podium, Marc Amourette managed in the Sunday stage to regain the ascendancy lost over a combative Bayard.

A member of the organizing ASA, Rebout completed the Top 5 ahead of Saint Requier. In group N, Fouteret achieved one last success at the wheel of his Mégane RS ahead of the young Vanson.
