Triple winner of Rally des Bornes, Lionel Baud left his pursuers little hope. On the evening of the first stage, the Fiesta driver WRC was 30" ahead of Chiavaro (Ford Fiesta) and more than 1'30" ahead of Cretien. But the next day, Baud had to give up due to a power steering problem, leaving Chiavaro alone. Behind, the fight raged between Gaillet (BMW 318), Durier (206), Bochatay and Baratay for a place on the final podium but also a victory in the Group F2000 and the R. Durier Group secured 2nd place by setting a scratch time (SS 10), especially as Gaillet went out for the count in the final time trial. After his 3rd place in 2015, Chiavaro won this year with the same car. In Group R, Bochatay lost 40'' in SS 10 and let Baratay slip away for a place at the foot of the podium. In the F2000 Group, Sage (Clio 16S) took 2nd place but 4' behind Durier, winner without dispute. Lecoarer (Subaru Impreza) took victory in Group N against Dompnier (206 RC). Like last year, no competitor was registered in GT.
