For his R5 debut at the wheel of a Ford Fiesta, Bruno Riberi completely flew over this classic of the Nice hinterland. Leader from SS 1, the Monegasque regularly increased his lead by winning the 8 times of this 75th edition. With 17 victories on this field, De Meyer (206 WRC) had nevertheless started as the big favorite. But after a difficult start to the race, the Grassois suffered a clutch failure at the exit of SS3. Behind Riberi, who decided to stop the 208 RallyCup to move towards a program on the Riviera, the fight raged at all levels. It was only by 2”8 that Catudal managed to save his 2nd place against an excellent Haut-Labourdette, author of a great victory in Gr.A ahead of the other S2000 from Deplanche. Even more terrible, the long duel in F2000 which allowed Autiero to win by 0”6 against Pistachi!
