Robert Kubica begins the second stage of the Rally du Var with a fifth consecutive scratch at the wheel of his Citroën C4 WRC in the Plan de la Tour special and now has a 1’30 lead over his direct rival Freddy Loix. After his puncture causing him to fall outside the top ten, Craig Breen achieved an impressive performance by failing 1"3 behind the leader of the Rallye du Var with his Peugeot 207 S2000. Gilles Nantet follows the S-WRC champion with only two tenths behind. Julien Maurin fell to ninth position following a puncture on his Ford Fiesta WRC, six seconds behind the 206 WRC of Charles Zuccarelli. Stéphane Consani remains in control of the Citroën Racing Trophy with 21 seconds over Quentin Gilbert, Sébastien Chardonnet having lost time following a puncture. Jean-Sébastien Vigion takes third place in the category and now finds himself virtual leader of the Championship.
